I Give It All To You Lord Jesus (The Tapestry Song)

This was written at a time when a lifelong hope was possibly about to be fulfilled. Yet there was no guarantee, as the decisions were in the hands of other people. Unable to control the outcome, I had to place it all in the Lord’s hands and ask for his will to be done, trusting whatever he chose would be right even if it wasn’t what I wanted. We only see life from our point of view, but the Lord sees the full picture. Each of us is equivalent to one thread in the tapestry, but the Lord weaves the threads of our lives together, creating a picture known only to him.

Learning To Lean

I’ve always been a planner and organizer, working out the logical way to do things. I’m still learning that there are times when I shouldn’t be doing this, as The Lord is a far better planner and organizer than I’ll ever be. Learning to lean on Jesus is something which doesn’t always come easily to me, so I wrote myself this reminder!

Lighthouse

During a holiday to Ireland in 2017, I visited a lighthouse. On our tour, we learnt the history of the structure, and how its constant light in the darkness had saved the lives of so many at sea.
I began thinking about how Jesus is our lighthouse. He is always there, showing us the true way we should go. He won’t always take away the storms of life, but as long as we fix our eyes on him, he will see us through them, staying close beside us all the way. It was these thoughts that led me to write the song Lighthouse.
