Hi, I’m Lou, not the usual way of shortening Lorraine, but I answer to either! I’ve lived in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, all of my life. As much as I think living in a town or city would be much more convenient, I’ve always been a country girl, and can’t imagine living in a more built up area.
I became a Christian in my twenties, and since then, my writing of songs and books has been influenced by my faith.
I’ve always enjoyed writing. As a child, I dictated stories to anyone who would write them down, or into a tape recorder! Folders full of braille came next, until writing on a computer became a great space saving alternative! It always seemed to me that having books published was something other people did. I would have likely gone on thinking this, if I hadn’t shared some of my writing with friends, and realized others might actually want to read it. I don’t think I would ever have sent my writing to a publisher, so I’m truly thankful for the ability to self-publish. You can find out more about my books

I think I began singing as soon as I could talk. Songs I’d learnt were mixed in alongside those I made up, about anything and everything! These days, I don’t tend to sing my thoughts as they come into my head, not in civilized company anyway! But I have been known, along with others, to burst into song about something completely random!
When I became a Christian, the Lord began to give me songs to write, which would glorify him. Here you will find some basic recordings of those songs. I’m not someone who can just sit down and write a song on demand, it seems they usually come to me at unexpected times and places.
