Have you ever come across a Bible verse that seems to be your nemesis – a scripture that has the ability to wind you up to the point where you question whether it was put in the Bible by mistake?

Two are better than one.
A few years back, I had the blessing of attending 3 weddings – 2 in the usual way, and one by tuning in to a special broadcast over the internet. I noted that all 3 services had some similarities, but some differences. This may have had something to do with the fact that while one couple are both Christians who seek to put Jesus at the centre of their lives, the other 2 couples don’t profess any faith that I’m aware of.

Learning From Naomi By Sarah Tummey.
Naomi’s family lived in Moab for roughly a decade. During a famine, they left Israel in favour of a place where there was food. Her husband died, but she watched her sons settle down and marry. Then they also died, leaving Naomi with just her daughters-in-law.

He Had A Dream!

Happy new Year!
It’s 2019, and now we have to remember that every time we write the date. How many times before the end of January will I get it wrong, and go back to writing 2018, only to cross it out and start again? By February, I’ll be used to the new numbers, but I’m sure the year will fly, and it’ll soon be time to start writing 2020!

The First Christmas, by Lou Beard.
In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God. He was with God in the Beginning. Through him all things were made. Without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.

The Heavenly Father Who Provided For Mary Still Cares Today, by Kay Warner.
With Christmas coming quickly upon us and everyone focusing on the birth of our saviour Jesus, I cannot help but think of the most important person in the story, Mary – a young girl promised to be married then suddenly having her whole world turned upside down.
